Rural living suits buyers who value space, quiet, gardens and proximity to nature over walkable amenities. It usually means longer drives to shops and schools, slower broadband (though Project Gigabit is closing the gap), and oil/LPG/wood burner heating rather than mains gas. EPC ratings can be lower, but rural homes often offer more square footage per pound than urban ones.
Things to check: broadband speed (use Ofcom's checker), mains water vs borehole, septic vs mains drainage, oil-tank condition, road access in winter, and distance to schools and GP surgeries.
